The starter powder when cultured is called a “First Generation” or 1ST GEN of Bravo.

It is the best and most effective way of taking Bravo.  If you have a medical condition

and can afford to buy Bravo, that is recommended.  Because it is the most effective.

The scientists have made Bravo in a laboratory with specific ratios.  Because of that, we can not really keep making it over and over like most yogurts.  The regenerative yogurt cultures have been together over time and what doesn’t work is long gone.

Bravo is not a docile regenerative yogurt.  It is a biological medicine and has been developed in over 300 experiments to create GcMAF. Bravo has lactobacillus types, bifidus types, yeasts such as s. Balardii and colostrum.  The yeasts are competitive and over time will dominate the food source.

We must be mindful of protecting the “formula”.  Taking other yogurt or probiotics can change or dilute the formula.  These can be suspended while using Bravo.  It is already a very high potency and complete probiotic.

We can, however, make a 2ND GEN which (in my opinion) is only loosing 20% of it’s effectiveness. (IMHO, The 3RD GEN was very yeasty and had a threatening taste

but was slightly usable, (in my opinion) I would say it lost 40-45% and left me not

feeling good in my body, meaning it wasn’t as effective.   The 4TH GEN when I made it, was a waste of milk!  It was  horrible and not remotely usable at all.

However, the second generation will be useful.  The yogurt mixture will carry the living probiotics to the next batch but the colostrum is food and ingredients to make the new cultured substance to support the immune system.  Therefore we need to add colostrum to the second generation batch.

Here is my strategy suggestion, use it if it works for you.

When we use the starter powder, it comes with colostrum in it.  When making the 2ND GEN you must add about 2 TBS of colostrum which adds nutrition to the milk for the culture.   (As you may know colostrum is the “first milk” in breast milk and it is known to build the immune

system like the t-cells of the immune system.). It is available by the ounce in our store to make it easy for you to try cheaply or by the huge tub at Amazon for $60 plus dollars for 21 oz.) It is shelf stable.

Things you will need:

An extra jar violet glass jar (to keep the product fresher longer.)

1-2 TBS Colostrum

2 cups of milk (for the 1/2 liter jar)

1/4 – 1/3 cup of 1ST GEN Bravo

Directions:

  1.  Take a jar of prepared 1ST GEN and put 1/4 cup of yogurt mixture into a second jar.
  2. Add 1-2 TBS colostrum (doesn’t change the formula)
  3. Fill up the 1/2 liter jar to the top with approx 2 cups of milk.
  4. Mix by shaking (if you do that well). Or grind powder it in a small cup with a spoon and milk then shake in)
  5. Plug in the machine or turn on your oven lightbulb and culture it.  Both of these ways are viable.
  • 98 degrees environment for 12 hour (see Youtube.com – Preparing Bravo Part 2)
  • 70-86 degrees for 24-48 hours

You now have an almost full jar of 1ST GEN

You have a full jar of 2ND GEN

Consume only the 2ND GEN.

Leave the 1ST GEN until you need more culture to make another jar of 2ND GEN

Keep it closed and in the back for best results.

Continue making 2ND GEN jars and consume them until the 1ST GEN has gone bad.

(I have seen it last months in a prayerful home 🙂 but start checking after a month.  If you are not using Miron glass, start checking after 2.5 weeks.

ALTERNATIVE 2ND GEN PLAN

If you are ill and need more direct support but need to save money, you can compromise.

Take some 1ST GEN in the morning and the 2ND Gen in the evening.

The 2ND GEN feeds and refreshes the micro biome and fills in as needed.

Be creative!  Find what works for you.

Other things that will help  you along as per the Doctors from Europe:

  1. Rubio Cordifolia, and lithium orotate (buy it at BravoCoop.  It’s called Bravo Proyocol)
  2. as well as multivitamins and
  3. vitamin D in smaller doses such as 1000IU
  4. Also the Ketogenic or Paleo. (Look it up! It’s very worth your attention.)

The ketogenic diet is really important in that the Bravo needs greens to make the system work!!  It’s a delicate system.  You need to make the digestive system lighter and using less energy.

We desperately need to stop feeding the micro parasites that make film and cover you!  When I started to take Bravo, I felt the film back off and my vitality was able to shine through.  Don’t let that “system” get close.  It is better to be proactive.

Sugar feeds cancer and therefore starts it’s parasitic action.  It is a hard fight back to your divine inner communication once those pirates hijack your communication system and tell you it’s fine to keep doing what “they say” you want.

People generally just loose their sensibility and shrug off the warnings of others.  It’s up to you to eat well and be a ninja.   It isn’t a fight as much as discernment, vigilance and awareness.  When we want to hide from stress in comfort is the time it is most dangerous.  The hijacking is quite subtle and mostly it’s a smooth transition into their command.  (meaning parasitic growth)

The way the parasites hijack our inner communication is called “cravings”.  We eat sugar a few times, the parasitic condition “gets awakened”, the colony starts to build a film to protect itself.  The colony secretes hormonal messages to your receptor sites the same as your endocrines.  Suddenly you are in a hormonal storm.  You eat what you know you don’t want.  Yes, the parasites have you like a puppet on a sting.  And what are you telling yourself while that happens?

YOU are the most important commodity in this action.  You must stay true to your own body’s function.  Here is the test.  Say no to what you shouldn’t eat, and win!  If you can do that consistently, you will be able to heal  yourself and do much more with your self.  You will become actualized.

Do you know when you are dehydrated?  It’s very similar!  We know we need to drink water and we don’t.  Supporting yourself becomes a double benefitted action.

How long does a jar last?

If this is your first jar, we have a graduated recommendation for taking it.

  • Week 1 – 1/4 tsp x 2 times per day (at rest, without food)
  • Week 2 – 1 tsp x 2 times per day (no other restrictions)
  • Week 3 – 1 TBS x 2 times per day
  • Week 4 – 2 TBS x 2 times per day

This jar is a 1/2 liter European measurement, we buy milk by the gallon which is slightly less than a half liter.  A half liter contains approximately 67 tablespoons.  Hopefully this will help you to estimate how long a jar lasts at the rate you take it.

When adjusting your dosage, pay attention to how you feel.  Not just your body but your mood and brightness.  If you feel great, that means your body has enough energy to detoxify at the current rate.  If you take too much for your body energy, you will have a feeling in your life of “I have too much to do.”  This is the detox taking up lots of your energy.  Find the level where you feel great and stay there.

We did this to gain functionality such as:

Who is in Control Now?

About 15 years ago I started going to a homeopath who really knows what she is doing.  I wasn’t sure of it at the time.  I could see her weaknesses but she was kind.  She didn’t show her cards and she didn’t separate herself from me.  She didn’t do what I did with myself and she hooked me up with great marketing which was she rubbed my feet and she valued what I said and knew.  We helped each other.   I had been hiding from my problems and wanted myself to be “tidy”.  I wanted to look and feel like I had it together.  She could “see” but we were both learning too.

What I learned from her was how badly I treated myself and how easy it really was to overcome being out of control, be overwhelmed, and weak in body and brain.  I learned that I would need a lot more “strength” to get through the mess I had created, then more strength to lift into a better life and then MORE strength to help others without sinking my own boat.

When I came through for myself, I looked and felt great: really good.  People would comment on my skin or my muscles or my energy, or talk quietly to themselves to figure how I did this. They even asked me, “How do you look so good?”  I told them.  “I have sacrificed.”   When I looked at her, I knew that what I had done was given things up that others would consider comfort to get where I wanted to go.   It’s true but I didn’t feel like I was sacrificing at the time.  I was taking steps and following my intuition and also looking at things that I wasn’t willing to look at before.  I was looking at what my body needed.

Here is the gem: what I had learned, was to look.   I was making a plan to get somewhere.   I wanted to feel better.  My friend showed me what was in the way. I changed and I felt a little bit better, I changed more, and felt better but through holding those changes and making those steps, I had a goal.  I had a vision and I held it.  As I got better, my inner connection grew stronger and with that my goals got better and clearer and my guidance from within myself became truer.  I didn’t just get better, I got “world class” better.

I emerged as a very bright shiny, light filled person who had transformed into a healthy person. The oddest part is that, I was doing it to get somewhere: I did it for my vision.  My vision of myself wasn’t always entirely wide enough to grasp a big picture.   So much of the time I was holding a small light in a big world.  I knew, that if I wanted to get there, I would have to be stronger so if I didn’t quite know where I was going, I would at least be committed and accumulate the strength that I needed.

When my vision waned, I would wobble.  I would also get weaker and although it isn’t a “straight-line process”,  I would get discouraged at the back-sweep.  Even with all I knew about the waxing and waning of the moon, the breath, yoga, and my cumulative strength I still didn’t enjoy the down-turn because I felt that I was supposed to be growing and it was always supposed to be summer.  Instead, I became satisfied with riding that “edge” of me and my body’s awareness, the head and the gut working together like two eyes, tempered by the heart.  This process was right.  It seemed to be where I was supposed to be.  This process made me feel alive!

What I had been needing was to paying attention to my body’s function and not just make myself comfortable.  I was delighted by the parts of me that showed up in the light.  It was my own rendition of Bambi directed by the tough girl who grew up in New Jersey. (with the Sopranos)  I needed, to hear from my gentle side and give it a chance to tell me what was really needed.  That’s when I began to get well.  I stopped being hard on myself, took care of myself, and began to respect the things that happened to me and my creativity.

I went into training with my diet. This gave me two advantages, first I learned to be committed to myself and second, while I was learning, I was using the practice of eating well to make my body stronger.  My plan was simple.  Eat vegetables and get stronger.  Eat protein and make muscles!  I wasn’t focused on looking good or body shape.  I was looking for  energy, life essence and soul in my food to give to my body.  I began to eat unrefined food that didn’t run away and “appreciated being eaten” (like most plants) and that my body felt good about having.   I was learning to do things for my body and the planet like to respect matches that were for my blood type.  After giving myself the lighter food that I needed, I found that I was feeling much better.  I also took green drinks and protein powders in-between my meals to keep my blood sugar stable.  This gave my body less work to do just keeping balanced.  Who stops and asks how their body is doing?  Really?  Am I mad?  No!  I made more forward movement in my life because I wasn’t making it hard for myself.  I wasn’t  getting trashed and having lots of hard work clean up.  I grew in self respect and finally learned to allow others to give me respect too.

Slowly and surely I drew my focus on one thing at a time.  The single focus had lots of power and attentiveness so I had the strength I needed to get each undertakeing done.  It was more than that for me, it was a process of using the energy that I wanted in my life to build my life.  Most of the time, I had been running on empty and looking to others to somehow give me peace and abundance.  Peace and abundance didn’t come from competing, scrambling, and snatching it from everywhere I could find it.  It comes from holding my energy, being decisive and giving to others while holding a very strong regard for loving myself which was symbolized by my “body’s needs”.

Regardless of the nature of the task, I was adding accumulated strength for the next one by eliminating the load, one task at a time.  All this had a self-perpetuating reward because I realized I was showing up for myself and I was getting stronger!  I learned that what I needed was to stay happy and buoyant.  If I got depressed, I built some nutrition that gave me my balance.  Then I literally built a better formula than I could buy, for a quarter of the price.  This began working on so many levels.  I saw what I needed, I gave myself what I needed and I held my energy by not overpaying.   I looked for the most elegant solutions.  I did the super hard things first and often, the other things that used to be hard were getting easier and my ability to be joyful, focused and get things done fell into place.

Regardless of how stuck I was when I started, I ended up with skills.  I was no longer running  away, running on empty, or looking for validation.  I was looking at the true need, I was doing my best, I was giving to myself as best I can and becoming independent about receiving what I needed. I now have an inner dialog that says, “I have what I need” coming from the body.

I don’t think that people understand how important it is to care for the body.  Our cells communicate at an astounding rate!  We can hear/sense it!   A million times per second, times billions of cells give a “ping” to see if their needs are met and they get a report of their status. If I make a tiny, tiny movement in the right direction, my body responses and reporting goes CRAZY!  If I acknowledge my body’s thirst signal and get water, I get sooo many points for that.  If I help my body to feel better, I am so heavily rewarded!  My body changes gears and says it is on-course.  That is a lot of noise to change with very little effort.  The response continues and gets bigger.  I am happy!  It’s a positive, forward moving, balanced and wonderful way to live.  For this I eat vegetables, drink green juice and drink water, etc.  The medium of exchange has found a successful negotiation and its working: energy, health, vibrance, happiness, abundance.

Maintaining an positive cellular status will do wonders for how drained you are.  I have the earth, my food from the earth, and the village that supports each other, I use kindness and use my own personal brand of gifts and talents to give. This is all very helpful and satisfying.  This is the foundation of me and what I want to express and how I want to live.  When I feel lonely, I give more and I look for the channels of communication that I may have shut down while I was focused.  Usually, it just needs to get opened up and all the love comes back in.

I am very glad to share with you what I have learned from this very profound healer who kept it all quiet while she was teaching me.  I don’t think I could have handled it with all the overwhelm but she was always happy to acknowledge what worked and now we work together with clients.  I look at the undercurrents of what is under the functioning and she finds great solutions and we pick out the best ones.  (use your gifts to give to others!)  We can both test for the right one and we hold the energy together to lift each other.  It also helps to have two people to lift the negativity off of others.

Now I want to address something that is very, very difficult about this process of looking at our needs.  This one topic strongly gets in the way of myself and the people I meet and gets in the way of them having what they want.  It is such a big “hot button” that people don’t like to talk about it because they glaze over like a Dunkin’ Donut.  It’s an area that is difficult to win in and no one wants to talk about their defeat. They just want to pretend that it is not there.

The topic is “stress eating” to feed our need for comfort.  Instead of really looking, we slip and slide all the way back to the bottom of our discipline until “lack of discipline” is the norm and we don’t even seem to mind!!  Sleepy consciousness however doesn’t bring success.  The “want of success” has woken many and got them to transform from sinking to swimming and we all can, if we have “cellular responsiveness” strength.  What I learned about being successful was modeled on working with my body responsiveness.  This created success at the cellular level and that grew until it exploded out of me as success on the outer level.    When the body is successful, much like a cheering stadium, the responsiveness and positive messages echos up in mass through the crowd and accumulate enough to bring affect to the whole surrounding area.  It would be like the whole town hearing the message or it would be the person’s conscious awareness becoming aware.  Its very exciting on a body level and we can feel it!

To be successful in the body you must listen and give.  If you listen you will adopt practices of internal cleaning that seem silly but layered together they make a big difference.  If you give, you extend yourself and all your pours open up and the love comes in.  Want to feel better?  Give!!!   Serve!!! Open your heart and make something work for your surroundings.

Here is how you can serve your body. (writing it down helps you to see it happening)

  1. First thing in the AM drink a glass or two of distilled water to take out the metabolic acids.  This gives you a huge head start because you don’t have to clean before starting your day.
  2. Alkalizing green juices calm and clarify the body and get the best performance everyday.
  3. Special foods and mushroom tea that actually add strength to the body which effects endurance.  I use Chaga Tea used by olympic athletes as a natural plant steroid.  I love it!!
  4. Minerals, minerals and more minerals get the gears turning.  A few days without can do harm to the success system.  Use food based, and green vegetables for minerals.  Popeye.
  5. Happiness occurs when the water flows.  I imagine a stream tumbling, bubbling and joyful.  If I am not laughing, I am not drinking enough of this joyful substance that my body needs.
  6. Vitamins.  They are small but make a huge difference.  Like a roofing job with labor, ladders & shingles but no nails.  Vitamins make everything work.  If your details are missing so are your vitamins.  If you are detailed and you don’t supplement, you are drawing from the bones and making yourself vulnerable to slow breakdown and have a slower recovery.
  7. Make sure your food and supplements fit your body like a glove.  They should be comfy.
    Its easy to fight them.  Not take them.  Inner complaining.  This means you are loosing the inner communication battle and your bad microbes are winning. (They are weakening you!)
  8. Oils are needed when they are healthy, fresh and balanced.  Not too much, not too little.  When oils are too much, it can thin the blood and sometimes it can catch on fire or become inflammation.
  9. Greens and proteins.  Small meals ever 2 hours will stabilize blood sugar saving tons of digestive energy and channel your energy into focus and forward movement.

If this seems like a lot of work, look at your goals for forward movement and start small!  If you  feel great and make it easy, pretty soon your life works.  Build it to be cheaper and easier and keep building.  Review, get specific and keep going.  This is a practice.  It’s like taking music lessons.  There is always more elegance and ease to acquire.  Like exercise, the act of stopping can loose the ground that you just built.  If my expanded energy shrinks, I shrink!  My energy levels shrink.  It  deflates my super powers!  This is inconvenient when my life is built on the new expansion it’s like a duck doing a belly flop water landing.  Keep building, don’t use EVERYTHING I HAVE, that deplete your energy for sleep and renewal.  Balance and take  mastery of your new expansion before I depend on it.

With a solid diet that your body can depend on you.  You stop flying into the walls.  You start to wake up to what you need to understand.  You stop sliding around.  If you have been hurting yourself and you actually stop it becomes joyful.  “Oh look at me!!!  That’s new!”

You become more efficient.  This is very helpful.  You begin to gather helpful habits and the ones that don’t serve you start to fall away.  “Oh look at me!!!  That’s new!”

Are you still listening?  This is when you really start enjoying the gifts being handed to you but to make this happen, your heart has to take in the gifts given from all around you.  Its everywhere!  And you are finally landing them!!  Receiving is as important as giving.  “Oh look at me!!!  That’s new!”

This is a time when the diseases lift off.  You are strong, clear and can let go of the old emotions that don’t serve you.  The patterns crumble because their pillars fell.   You let go of the clutter of what you don’t need. Inside and out and you let go of old insecurities.  “Oh look at me!!!  That’s new!”  Your appearance looks younger and brighter.  Goodness is happening all around you and from within you because you are organizing it.

As your disease lifts off, you pick off the easy ones because the microbe colonies have to be dealt with as they show up in layers.  The harder ones, they don’t feel good.  They are made of lots of undigested emotions that you have been able to sidestep.  This comes from our basic fight or flight mechanism being abused.  We are able to put our feelings aside and run from the occasional “tiger”.  However, in this day and time, we spend too much time living like there is a tiger on our tail.   Thus our emotions get trained into denial and avoidance patterns.  I wish I could just say it over and over until you realize that it is essential to deal with your feelings and that our lives need to be slowed down and made much more simple and easy, if not somewhat boring but also polite and respectful.  Our bodies are still cave men.  They need to stretch and rest and they aren’t so very brainy.  Enjoy nature a little, your DNA loves that.

I wish I could tell you over and over again how important it is to take a full breath and walk out under the trees and take in what is around us.  Instead, our norm is to over work.  How else are we to get to success?  We believe in beating ourselves and we are unsuccessful.  We can’t eliminate all the stress and opposition to get to success.  It’s the other way.  We pull in more and more of what is like us: beautiful, graceful, and abundant.  We help each other.  The best of us have such as the gentleness and kindness and have simple ways to allow ourselves to be ourselves and to heal.  We need to digest our reality, our food, our love and our lessons.

We have cleared out so much.  Given ourselves the “right stuff”, but there are still so many sneaky things that go on.  We are right back to the beginning again.  Let’s not talk about it.  Let’s not deal with it.  Let’s just make sure that we all look good.  The discipline is too hard. It’s too weird.  It’s no fun.  We have plenty of good going on, we don’t need to deal with that.  Let’s just be comfortable.  But we can’t.  Once again we must rise up to see what we are dealing with in order to navigate to success.  There is no option to be Mr. Magoo.  There is no success in that, rather it’s once again, the microbes interfering with our process to make themselves more comfortable and to secure your body as their farm.

Issues in the Tissues

This is the mechanism as I look deeply into it.   We know to do one thing and we do another that we know not to do.  We KNOW it won’t work.  How does that even happen after all the strength we have built, talent we have, and the discipline we have added.  Let’s just say that this puzzle is in layers and this is the layer that comes off next.

In the body, these behaviors relate to real issues.  Some are bacterias, other viruses and sometimes they are environmental toxins or maybe heavy metal.  Whatever they are, you will feel the “disturbance in the force”.  (all negative thoughts are REAL toxins)  Here is the hardest thing to understand.  Deep inside, we have our own “divine tissue” which has at it’s core our own frequency.  This is what we want.  More of our own essence until we can truly express it inside and around us.

I am going to tell you something which is pretty hard to believe without seeing it with your own eyes, but our bodies fight for control at a tiny level.  Once you get past the rough stuff, there is still a struggle for control.  This is the master addiction.  It happens everywhere.  What do you believe?  Who will you vote for?  Who will you give your energy and money to?  Who are you listening to?  Am I inside or outside of your affiliation?

When things go our way, we consider ourselves a success.  I have only known this level of success on a broad scale over the last few years when I was able to build a microbiome.  I came across a product from Europe which builds an immune creating agent called GcMAF.  I was able to come back to my true essence and convert much of the confusion in my body to peace and my own essence expressing itself.  It has been a pleasure.

Here is the most important part of what I learned.  I am not fighting.  I am not exactly under control the way that I would like to be.  If I get stressed, I may start eating things that I know don’t work for me like nuts or cheese.  I know I am off.  But it creeps in and after 3 times it trips  into “I can’t stop”!   Now there are different levels of this addictive behavior,  depending on how much you don’t want to be with your discomfort.  I don’t let myself stray so it is nuts and cheese for me.  If I really listen to myself, I hear my needs and I hear the distress.  What is important is to listen to the divine essence of all of me, not just the needs.  To let the divine essence ring through in beauty, to choose to let go of the distress,  and to complete the feelings.  It’s like an inner hug.  It’s what I need.  Believe it or not, I get that from the microbiome.  It is a big feeling of happy and it takes months and months of building to get there.   Once I get there, I are un-stop-ably happy.  Everyone is on board with me.  Everything works, because I have a buoyancy which is simply present.

What happens next is along side all that.   Maybe its releasing up through or it has been under the rest but the tissue starts to reveal it’s deeper issues.  Maybe it is from virus colonies growing inside the tissues or bacterias, or parasitic colonies.  If pressed down in an act of not wanting the feelings they are surrounded by this whole action which becomes a bubble and can cause damage and even worse.  It is important to open the door and let it out at the same time as keeping your discipline and maintaining stability or slipping and sliding on the slope of your slimy bowel from eating poorly can leave us feeling unstable over just a short time.

Sugar feeds, yeast, it feeds bacteria, it feeds viruses.  These microbes hide behind thick gel walls and make their nests.  You can’t even see them.  They are there.  They want to be fed.

You will eat sugar not because YOU want to.  You know your discipline level. You know what you are supposed to do and who you are.  But this colony may be stronger than you.  They have learned to jump into your communication network (which is a type of hormone) and order themselves a pizza!   (and it really sounds like your voice and like a really good idea).  You don’t eat pizza?  Why are you eating it then?  Because the microbes can easily get bigger than you.  This is a very good reason to NOT GET STRESSED OUT.  Everyday, do some renewal.

Although this is an addiction, specially when sugar is in play, it is so much bigger and harder to stop because of our little friends.  They will store a year’s worth of sugar in their nests.  They can out last me 10 times over.  They will win every time.  What is important at first is to get used to this idea of what is happening and embrace it fully.  We are getting hacked but we are not the victims.  We are the creators.  We are holding our feelings in a little bubble.  Our immune system can’t go in cause we closed the door and put up a sign called “unwanted feelings”.  Who knew that would keep the good guys out.  Our word is quite powerful.

Feel the feelings.  With that out of the way, the nest can fall apart.  The immune system will get it if you take down your block of the feelings.  You see we set it up to be an area that was out of bounds for looking!!!  So no immune system will scan it.  Change that rule.  I am looking EVERYWHERE.  I am cleaning everywhere.  I am making every environment beautiful.  I won’t stop.

Giving your microbes what they want will NOT be good for you.  They are not on our side.  Being able to say no takes skill.  I would like to zoom in to show you how to win.

  1. The microbes take the tissue that belongs to you and they “recode” the controller to their frequency.  You must get that coding and controller back.
  2. This is actually the DNA which works like a radio station.  If your microbes have their own frequency, you have to put yours back.  This takes work.  Meditation, prayer, being one with nature or however you do it but it must be significant enough to get your full attention.
  3. My GcMAF does the job for me!!!  It goes in and gets on the mucosa or wherever and it attaches itself to the controllers of the cells….  It code it back to “ourselves” again.  Somehow these little beneficials have ability to relate to the cells controller but they just want you to be yourself and they hug you.   Feel it for yourself.  You get better fast.  Really fast.  But it’s subtle and you have to feel for it to experience it.
  4. Once you restore tissue, you are winning, continue to supply the yogurt at a comfortable rate.

Now, if you want to grow in your success, you can.  How?  You keep aligned with your highest good.  Check to see if you have the strength to take the next step.  You work with the tissue on what it really needs.  Not the messages from their nests.  Your body clears out nest by nest and your head clears, and your gut clears.  It’s an amazing experience to be able feel free of it and so sparkling clear only to see it go foggy, come back clear etc.

Getting your own “will” strong is a slow job and the slips can hurt on many levels.  Like not trusting yourself, having the communities grow past health levels, not being in control of your forward direction (very common) an mostly, disappointed in what you are putting out.  After all if they have the control of your output, you will feel like your “aim” is off.  It’s disheartening, especially when your peers are doing what you want to accomplish.

Learn this essential lesson.  LOOK.  Simple awareness is often curative.  Keep your eye on those bad feelings and get them out of those boxes and into the Light.  Let them get sorted.  Keep yourself clean, strong and doing the very hard things first.  The rest will sort easily.

If you are hearing what isn’t you, don’t be fooled. Find a way to shut down their communication.  Try doing tapping or jumping or something that will tell the body “this is what I want.”  This focus will override the other.  Focus on your ability to pay attention, to give it lots of attention.  That will get through anything if you use it all at one time on one problem at a time.

Addictions,  YES, I remember that.  Boy I am sure glad to meet another person working on addictions.  We should hang onto each other.  Make our brains strong.  Because having jelly nests of bugs inside us, that can’t be good.

Effective treatments for chronic illnesses such as cancer do not need to be expensive and they don’t need to have life-threatening side effects. Scientists have discovered a new link between sugar and tumor growth

Most non-cancerous cells in the body get their energy by aerobic respiration, a process that involves breaking down digested food into usable, energy-rich molecules through a series of chemical processes that requires oxygen, then releasing carbon dioxide as a byproduct. But not cancer cells. Even when ample oxygen is available to break down glucose and use it as fuel, cancer cells would rather get energy from fermenting sugar, which has a lower energy yield than the normal chemical reactions cells use. This phenomenon is called the ‘Warburg effect’.

The researchers behind the new study observed yeast cells in the lab, and found that their fermentation process — the same one that cancer cells prefer — actually stimulates tumor growth.

Their findings suggest that the most common cancer-causing genes, called Ras proteins, fuel aggressive tumors with their sugar intake. In short, sugar “awakens” existing cancer cells, making them multiply and expand rapidly, according to these scientists.

“The hyperactive sugar consumption of cancerous cells leads to a vicious cycle of continued stimulation of cancer development and growth” lead study author and Belgian molecular biologist Johan Thevelein, a professor at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, wrote in a press release. 

Biologists believe this new understanding of how sugar and cancer interact has “sweeping consequences” for further research. Previous studies have suggested that cancer treatments might be able to exploit the cells’ sweet tooth with targeted therapies, and these researchers think their findings could help oncologists create new, tailor-made diet strategies for cancer patients as well.

The scientists caution that there’s more work to do though, since they’re still not sure what causes the cancer cells to act this way. Read more here…

While ketogenic diet is known to help various conditions the actual effect only continues as long as the diet is adhered to. Whether one defines that as a cure is philosophically debatable. I personally do not define that as a ‘cure’ as studies from schizophrenics and epileptics indicate that once the diet was stopped (way back when in schizophrenia) the condition returned. I do not define cure as eternal vigilance with some exogenous substance or treatment used as a ‘medicine’. I define cure when the ‘medicine’ or ‘treatment’ is stopped but the beneficial effects remain or are perhaps prevented from even happening in the first place. Since we can’t not eat and drink in order to survive ‘let they food by thy medicine’ is also appropriate. I personally followed Dr. Mark Pimentel’s and Cedars Sinai diet advice ‘everything in moderation’ because I was tired of fad diets and obsessing over food (by the way I ate at McDonald’s maybe once every ten years, my diet was never SAD, fast food is gross, my husband is Italian born and bred) that only made my condition and food intolerance worse and that is what I saw in my experience, more elimination, fewer results with people being left on the rice and bananas diet becoming the sickest of all. Vegetarians being number two. While I initially had great results on Paleo and low carb and a few others eventually I was metabolically stuck and they eventually failed to work at all. I will say I was on some pretty heavy MS drugs and steroids which I am sure contributed to my metabolic downfall (liver failure) so…. I still adhere to everything in moderation as it seems the most reasonable for me to adhere to and be able to stick with for a lifetime. I could definitely rearrange my plate so it was more reflective of guidelines but keto wasn’t a necessity for me. It helps the worst of the worst as reported by them, seizures etc. My metabolism eventually straightened out as I eliminated inflammation and I began to lose weight almost effortlessly as when I was younger. At my sickest point I ballooned to 180 lbs. A real inflamed mess.

You may not have to use other remedies [with the ketogenic diet], unless there is a clear deficiency in some vitamin. For example, as in northern England, Scandinavia, and northern Germany, since you are not exposed to the sun light for a sufficient number of hours, the levels of vitamin D3 are typically low.

The actual substances that prevented Rickets were cod liver oil, milk and sunlight. Today’s research shows that cod liver oil may actually prevent Type I diabetes if given to an infant in the first year of life, yes that is correct, not Type II, Type I so of course there is plenty of basis to consider diet as both preventative and cure.

When you drink probiotic yogurt you don’t drink microbes alone you drink microbes and their environment. When you swallow the capsule with probiotics you only swallow the microbes. Probiotics are one thing and probiotics with their environment is another.

 Dr. Ruggiero made mention of research from Canadian scientists who were testing yogurt for treating HIV AIDS in Tanzania. [8] In research published in 2010 and 2011 they found that locally produced yogurt containing cultures that the researchers provided, there was a substantial reduction in disease symptoms. Dr. Ruggiero described their findings:

Immediately after a few weeks they began to see extraordinary results. All the symptoms associated with HIV infection and AIDS, mainly diarrhea, wasting syndrome, and malnutrition, began to improve. And the CD4 count began to increase in a much higher way than what you would expect using antiretroviral drugs.

Dr. Ruggiero gives us more details. He stated:

Bravo is a yogurt that was developed with the idea of exploiting the metabolism of healthy bacteria — healthy microbes — to produce a number of molecules that would exert a healthy effect on the human body. One of these molecules was GcMAF (Macrophage activating factor). This is a molecule that had been known for about 20 years, which was known to stimulate the immune system. Bravo reconstitutes the healthy human gut microbiome and the brain microbiome.

Don’t forget that in Bravo there are about a hundred and fifty newly formed peptides. What do I mean by newly formed? I mean that you take milk, and there are a certain number of healthy peptides and molecules, and then you take the microbes and let the microbes ferment the milk. At the end of the fermentation you will find a hundred and fifty newly formed peptides that weren’t present before, and they are the product of the microbial metabolism. All these newly formed peptides stimulate the immune system. It is an indirect action. It takes a few weeks if not months, but in the end you see excellent results.

Lactose Intolerance

Dr. Ruggiero addresses the concern about lactose (milk sugar) in Bravo since it is usually made from milk. He stated:

Lactose intolerance is not a problem, because Bravo is highly fermented. It takes 24 to 48 hours to ferment the Bravo and in those 24-48 hours the lactobacilli microbes have used all the lactose so in the end you will have no lactose.

Actually the Bravo is successfully used to treat lactose intolerance in children. After a few months of Bravo then they can eat cheese or drink milk with no problems.

 

That’s true for me. Eventually I began to be able to eat all foods again and it began in as little as 4-6 months. That is partly why I agree more with Dr. Mark Pimentel and Cedars Sinai on diet advice over strict elimination. I do not prefer to demonize any food when the person is in a diseased state. I prefer to eliminate important variables first as even in malnutrition syndromes microbes were shown to have more of an effect than diet in twin studies showing that microbiome health was clearly linked and malnutrition was inherent to an unhealthy microbiome and not diet (not surprising since they create the vitamins necessary for core health (evolution, you evolved to survive in both times of feast and famine), vitamins do not come from food or bottles in the drugstore. Studies have also shown that amino acid deficiency was reversed in rats in a matter of hours with certain oils. Although oils are foods, amino acid malnutrition itself would not likely be overcome in a matter of hours with oil alone. More studies are required.

Casein Intolerance

Dr. Ruggiero addresses this concern:

Caseins are proteins highly represented in milk. A great deal of caseins are metabolized during the fermentation process, nevertheless in the Bravo there are caseins. The point with casein intolerance is that caseins by themselves are not allergenic. What is allergenic is the product of the degradation of caseins in the stomach. When caseins are degraded in the stomach by the acid and the proteases, some of those peptides are allergenic and they can cause diarrhea or a number of other reactions.

The solution is rather simple. Instead of drinking the Bravo it can be used as an enema or as a suppository. Suppositories are made in Switzerland and Germany by two small pharmaceutical companies. [This provides] the entire Bravo, the entire environment. But since you introduced this rectally it will not be digested by the acids and the proteases of the stomach and therefore there will not be the formation of those products that are allergenic.

The rectal route of administration is particularly useful because all the healthy molecules in the Bravo, which of course include the Rerum and the GcMAF, will be rapidly absorbed through the rectal mucosa and they will directly go to the liver. So essentially the efficiency of delivery is equal to an intermuscular injection. Obviously you cannot inject the Bravo as a yogurt so don’t even think about doing this, but if you use the Bravo as an enema or suppository, then all the molecules will be rapidly absorbed and go to the liver with the same efficiency as if you injected them.

Upon metabolizing casein creates necessary peptides for immune activation. The actual chance of not being able to process casein without some other condition having higher influence would be slim and none. Lactose and casein intolerance do not spread at the speed of light and yet it is increasing worldwide similar to peanut allergy, something else is amiss here. Requires enzymes.

Using Bravo Yogurt to Control Human Parasites

There are alternatives to the use of chemical pesticides for killing parasites that live in the human gut. Parasites can thrive in the bodies of people who eat the standard American diet, and in bodies of those who have chronic illness. The best way is to use their natural enemies instead of taking synthetic pills. Their natural enemies are nothing else than the microbes that constitute the healthy core microbiome. The Bravo works at two levels in fighting parasites.

On one level the microbes fight with the parasites, because they compete for territory. The territory is our gut. Microbes, like all living species, compete for territory, but they have an advantage [over parasites]. You replace the microbes by the billions every day, whereas the parasites they are always under numbered. The parasites will easily be overpowered by the Bravo microbes.

Wouldn’t we all be rich if we could walk around treating what condition our condition was in….. but that is medicine today with some very serious toxic drugs (parasite meds included) and practices. Their actual presence indicates nothing.  Anal douching included, not a good idea and shown not to be a good idea. Your intestinal function does not go in that direction by design on any level, functional or chemical. Lavage is practiced by medical experts, not you. I got my Lyme diagnosis, I am a card carrying member of the Lyme Club. And a few other assorted organisms. I gave it 4 months to see improvement, long enough, then when I saw the list of drugs I was likely to be on for the rest of my life I walked out the door. Lyme is not a fatal disease. There was always evidence the organism itself was not in-fective, it got ignored. It is considered today to be opportunistic to the immune compromised and elderly. All vaccine trials and new Lyme vaccines in the pipeline have been cancelled by their manufacturers. Similar to AIDS vaccines, all have been considered failures. Similar to AIDS, Lyme became a self fulfilling prophecy of death by diagnosis and then prescription for many. Similar to AIDS groups, Lyme groups became increasingly more dogmatic in their beliefs with little evidence to support their claims.

What are the effects of drug induced chronic immune suppression?

• Immunodeficiency resulting in overwhelming infection.

The GcMAF and Goleic molecules that Dr. Bradstreet and other physicians used were protein based molecules that were derived from human blood. The process of their synthesis was very complex and had the risk of unintentional contamination from elements in the blood supply. GcMAF and the second generation macrophage activating factor, Goleic, had to be shipped frozen to protect the proteins from damage.

Do not confuse blood derived gcmaf with bovine colostrum derived gcmaf even if they are one and the same protein. Blood products are notoriously hard to decontaminate (gcmaf is not foreign blood derived, they used the patients own, reasonably and probably that patient would be denied even donating blood = toxic substance, what you care to read in to that about your own blood as a ‘toxic’ donor is up to you but no they were not using ‘foreign’ blood for gcmaf injections) it is expensive and the most modern methods are not as commonly used as one might hope.

 We began researching the molecules that were responsible for the health effects of the Bravo. The first that came into mind was GcMAF. Why? Precisely because we had developed the Bravo with the goal of producing GcMAF in the most natural way.

Looking for the needle in the haystack does not mean that one can separate the thing from its objective. I have seen this move criticized all over the internet. “He abandoned Bravo™ for Rerum®, now he wants to demonize one and promote the other so he can make even more money”. Impossible. He couldn’t demonize one product and promote the other in this instance when they go together like oh I don’t know peas and carrots as to influencing immune receptors. Actually what he did was overcome a lot of regulatory and inherent hurdles so it could actually help more people instead of spending years trying to get a so called ‘foreign protein’ across international nonsense barriers that confused apples with oranges. The Japanese did something similar in order to ship gcmaf products worldwide, (remember them, the ones who are credited with the discovery of gcmaf?). Whatever his goal, it worked like a charm. And compared to pharmaceuticals the cost is downright cheap so bravo to him for whatever his bank balance is. I would rather pay someone who actually produces a result that outperforms placebo for a change unlike pharma where the bar is set so low an ant could produce a drug and proclaim it effective. A long history of solid research by many preceded all. That research is pertinent, ongoing, attracts a lot of investment and interest worldwide and is helping premature infants and will help all infants who were not breastfed, like me. It is also highly relevant to SIBO and prebiotics. Do you know how many orphans there are worldwide who could see real benefit from it? Well until you do sit down and shut up.

The effects that we and others had observed with the old GcMAF and old Goleic were not due to the moiety of the protein molecules, but to the moiety of the glycosaminoglycans, the vitamin nutrients, and the oleic acid. So now we were able to by observing nature, to reconstitute the active part of the molecule without the need of the blood derived protein.

Because of this, we are now able to target those few hundred genes that are commonly altered in most chronic diseases.

Oleic acid alters gene expression, true. And by the way true genetic defects do not pop up like daisies.

Anybody who is not an idiot would have never assumed that in complex substances like cod liver oil, milk and sunlight that the actual effective substance was synthetic Vitamin D but that is not what happened 120 years ago. Dr. Russell Blaylock, brilliant neurosurgeon is not an idiot, for some reason he never advocated one substance from its whole, he apparently picked up a book or two. This is what happens when scientists make declarations they never have to prove by any objective measure before subjecting the public to harm and that is exactly what did happen. Our food got fortified. Blanket endorsements happened for no good reason. People began OD’ing on D and getting poisoned by it. Others began getting rich by opening clinics in other countries (sunny countries to boot) where they could routinely give 50,000 IU’s or greater and call it MS treatment for a butt load of money. And none of it was definitive, including the testing. FDA warnings were ignored. Epidemiology was ignored when facts on the ground began to highlight some interesting anomalies (like MS rates sunny S. America and AZ for example) and neighboring countries far north of the equator where food was fortified vs. food that was not fortified (lower prevalence in unfortified food countries). The word hypervitaminosis D which doctors had been aware of, were educated about, suddenly disappeared from medical literature and vernacular. Suddenly if you were not prescribing synthetic D you were branded as a know nothing. That is what happened. It became a battle of straw man arguments, similar to vaccines. Nobody ever said Vitamin D was not important. Today they know better but the public and medical establishment unfortunately has not caught up about this steroid hormone. I wish I could wear a white coat or be a new ager and make declarative statements for no reason that affect the whole world and call myself God to punish the dissenters but that is what happened with this as it did many times to your detriment as a patient in the end.

See France and other countries where forced supplementation of synthetic D is being given to newborns and being considered after causing death in newborns and think it has no relation to you or your child or your right to choose medical treatment that is unsubstantiated and may be entirely unwarranted. Who is starving in France and lacking milk or cod liver oil, no one. One thing is for sure, you will never find 10,000-50,000 IU’s of synthetic Vitamin D naturally occurring in food like cod liver oil unless you consume a tub of it, which no one in their right mind would recommend. I see the mentality daily, they need a drop they take a bottle, no common sense. There is a reason hemorrhoid cream says NOT TOOTHPASTE but I’ll guarantee some jack ass tried it and is probably still puckered up and carrying a sign saying it is a conspiracy and that hemorrhoid cream is actually great for teeth. People are under the illusion there are all these gateways that will eventually funnel them to the best place and I guess the most desirable place is where they don’t have to make a decision at all or think or act or be held accountable but those gateways are just not there. The opoid epidemic alone is a perfect illustration, it could NOT, it would NOT have happened unless every single mechanism in the chain failed, from beginning to end, that means systemically broken.

It reminds me of a joke that is not so funny, today I see a scientist, a doctor, new ager or a self proclaimed authority (usually wearing a white coat) from the Vitamin D Council to the AMA to the FDA to the NYT to the NEJM and I take away reason and accountability before listening to a damn word they have to say because that is where the majority rely on gateway and information. I’m not worried about the other alternative end of the funnel, they are a drop in the bucket compared to the other as to having impact on your daily life.

Choosing organic foods is a straightforward way to lower your exposure to pesticides and GMOs (genetically modified organisms), but an even better option is to look for foods, particularly meat and dairy, that are organic and grass fed. Cows are designed to eat grass, but the majority of beef and dairy products in the U.S. come from cows that eat corn and grain, perpetuating the unethical, unhealthy and environmentally devastating concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) that dominate industrial agriculture.

In exchange for cheap meat and dairy, we’re paying a hefty price, one that may be infinite in the damage it’s causing via pollution and damage to human health. On the other hand, farms producing grass fed meat and dairy products are able to naturally regenerate the soil and maintain ecological balance without relying on chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

Meanwhile, grass fed products such as milk and cheese are valued for their seasonal variations in flavor, along with their superior nutritional profile. While the market is still small — labeled grass fed beef makes up just 1 percent of the U.S. beef market — it’s growing fast. Sales of labeled grass fed beef reached $272 million in 2016, up from $17 million in 2012 — which means sales have doubled each year.1

Grass Fed Foods Are Better for You

From a health standpoint alone, there’s good reason to go organic and grass fed as much as possible. Milk from cows raised primarily on pasture has been shown to be higher in many nutrients, including vitamin E, beta-carotene and the healthy fats omega-3 and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).2 Grass fed beef is better for you too, with CLA levels increasing by two- to threefold when cattle are grass finished as opposed to grain finished.3

This is a significant benefit, as CLA is associated with a lower risk of cancer and heart disease and optimized cholesterol levels. The ratio of dietary fats is also healthier in grass fed beef. According to Back to Grass: The Market Potential for U.S. Grassfed Beef, a report produced by a collaboration between sustainable agriculture and ecological farming firms:4

“Although the exact physiologic mechanisms behind these benefits are not completely understood, grassfed beef (and dairy) can provide a steady dietary source of CLAs. The optimal ratio of dietary omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids is believed to be between 1-to-1 and 4-to-1. Seven studies that compared the overall fat content of different beef types found that grassfed beef had an average ratio of 1.53, while grain-fed beef had a less healthy average ratio of 7.6.”

Grass fed meat is also higher in antioxidants like vitamins E and A, the report noted, along with the enzymes superoxide dismutase and catalase, which mop up free radicals that could otherwise hasten oxidation and spoilage. Grain feeding cows also encourages the growth of E. coli in the animals’ gut, as it leads to a more acidic environment. Grain-fed cows live in a state of chronic inflammation, which increases their risk of infection and disease, and necessitates low doses of antibiotics in feed for disease-prevention purposes.5

This isn’t the case with grass fed cattle, which stay naturally healthy as they’re allowed access to pasture, sunshine and the outdoors. In a Consumer Reports study of 300 raw ground beef samples, grass fed beef raised without antibiotics was three times less likely to be contaminated with multidrug-resistant bacteria compared to conventional (CAFO) samples.6

The grass fed beef was also less likely to be contaminated with E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus than the CAFO meat. So while giving you more nutrition, you’re also less likely to be exposed to drug-resistant pathogens when eating grass fed food.

Grass Fed Meat and Dairy Are Better for the Environment

The CAFOs that produce most U.S. meat and dairy are among the top polluters on the planet, for myriad reasons. For starters, there’s the massive amounts of manure that collect in CAFO “lagoons,” leading to toxic air and water pollution, along with the excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides (not to mention water) used to grow the grains that the livestock eat.

U.S. CAFOs produce 500 million tons of manure annually, which is three times the amount of sewage produced by humans. This is far more manure than can be safely applied to farm fields in the U.S.7 In a report released by environmental group Mighty Earth, massive manure and fertilizer pollution churned out by meat giant Tyson Foods is blamed for causing the largest dead zone on record in the Gulf of Mexico, for instance.8

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the area of low oxygen, which can kill marine life, is nearly 9,000 square miles, which is about the size of New Jersey.9 The dead zone is primarily the result of nutrient pollution from agriculture in the Mississippi River watershed. The excess nutrients promote the growth of algae that decomposes, using up oxygen needed to support life.

Mighty Earth singled out Tyson, and another meat giant Smithfield, as top contributors to the dead zone because they have the highest concentration of meat facilities in the areas with the highest levels of nitrate contamination. In addition, Tyson’s feed suppliers are responsible for the majority of grassland prairie clearance in the U.S., which “dramatically magnifies the impacts of fertilizer pollution.”10Meanwhile, as reported by Consumer Reports, the very act of feeding livestock grains is also problematic:11

“Turning grain into meat is an inefficient process: It takes 7 kilograms of grain to produce 1 kilogram of beef. As a result, the conventional beef industry consumes vast amounts of corn and soybeans. Those crops require significant amounts of water: It takes about 1,000 tons of water to grow 1 ton of feed. In addition, nonorganic farms use synthetic pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, and genetically engineered seed to grow the feed crops, which raises a variety of sustainability concerns.”

In contrast, raising animals on pasture using rotational or regenerative grazing approaches can increase soil organic matter, soil fertilityand water-holding capacity, while naturally reducing erosion and encouraging crop diversity. Unfortunately, as farmers increasingly plant mostly wheat, rice, soy and corn (including for animal feed), more than 75 percent of crop genetic diversity has disappeared since the 1900s, leaving fields increasingly vulnerable to pests, disease and drought.12

Grass Fed Is More Humane, Tastes Better

To be considered humane, animals should be raised without pain, injury or disease, as well as fear or distress. They should be given proper food and water as well as the ability to express normal behavior. These basic elements of animal welfare are missing from CAFOs, which keep animals confined for long periods of time without adequate space or access to the outdoors. As noted by the “Back to Grass” report:13

“Standing on dirt (or sometimes concrete) flooring, often covered with thick layers of mud and manure, can produce health issues such as foot rot (causing swelling and lameness) and digital dermatitis, a bacterial infection that can also lead to lameness and intense discomfort. In feedlots, antibiotics are used to prevent outbreaks of diseases, which spread easily from animal to animal when livestock are confined in the same area over a long period of time.

Antibiotics are also used in feedlots to prevent acidosis (a spectrum of conditions that arise when the microbes in the rumen ferment the starches in grain feed), which can produce harmful effects ranging from stomach bloat to sudden death.”

Animals raised on pasture are healthier, which means they’re not routinely fed antibiotics, and are allowed to live out their lives as cows should, grazing and feeling the sun on their backs. It’s important to understand, however, that choosing organic doesn’t necessarily mean the animals were raised more humanely. Cows produce more milk, faster, when they’re fed grain in the barn, as opposed to grazing on grass on pasture.

Industrialized organic dairies are capitalizing on this by skimping on grazing time, raising thousands of cows in veritable CAFOs, yet still gaining the USDA organic label that suggests otherwise. Unfortunately, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is not doing nearly enough to protect the integrity of its organic label, which is why I encourage you to look for The American Grassfed Association (AGA) logo, a much-needed grass fed standards and certification for American-grown grass fed meat and dairy.14

The standard allows for greater transparency and conformity15 and is intended to ensure the humane treatment of animals and meet consumer expectations about grass fed dairy, while being feasible for small farmers to achieve.

An AGA logo on a product lets you know the animals were fed a lifetime diet of 100 percent forage, were raised on pasture (not in confinement) and were not treated with hormones or antibiotics.16 I strongly encourage you to seek out AGA-certified meat dairy products as they become available. In the Midwest, the Kalona SuperNatural brand was the first dairy brand to become AGA-certified.

Grass fed foods are healthier for you and the planet, and better for the environment, but there’s yet another reason to seek them out: their taste. “There is a growing consensus among chefs and gastronomical experts that high-quality grass fed beef not only rivals but is in fact better-tasting than grain-fed beef. It has a ‘beefier’ and more complex taste,” Back to Grass pointed out.17

Returning to Grasslands Is Key

Yet another reason to “go grass fed” is that regenerative agriculture, including converting cornfields back to grasslands and saving natural grasslands that exist, is key to fixing many environmental problems. This type of land management system promotes the reduction of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) by sequestering it back into the soil where it can do a lot of good. Once in the earth, the CO2 can be safely stored for hundreds of years and actually adds to the soil’s fertility.

Unfortunately, since the early 1800s, grasslands in North America have decreased by 79 percent — and in some areas by 99.9 percent.18 This expansion of cropland at the expense of grasslands is tragic, as grasslands are biologically productive and support a wide variety of plant and animal life.19 As Undark explained:20

“Perhaps paradoxically, the expansion of cropland ‘may actually be undermining the very agricultural productivity it seeks to gain,’ write the authors of … [an] Environmental Review Letters study.

Compared to cropland, grasslands ‘harbor significantly greater plant, microbial, and animal diversity, and generate higher levels of nearly all agriculturally vital ecosystem services, including pest suppression and pollination.’ To break prairie, then, is to dismantle the very supply chain that underpins American agricultural abundance.”

Imports of grass fed beef, which make up 75 percent to 80 percent of U.S. grass fed beef sales by value, are another hurdle. Australia and Brazil can produce grass fed beef at a lower cost, as their climate allows for year-round grazing. U.S. consumers may not know the grass fed beef they purchase isn’t from the U.S., however, because as long as a piece of imported beef passes through a USDA-inspected plant, it can be labeled as a “Product of the USA.”

As the Back to Grass report put it, accurate labeling is imperative to “ensure that consumers are getting what they think they’re buying.”21 Not only may you be buying imported beef without knowing it, the grass fed beef you’re buying may not be as wholesome as you expect it to be, thanks to weak standards.

This is another reason why looking for the AGA logo on your meat and dairy is important, as it ensures the animals were born and raised on American family farms, fed only grass and forage from weaning until harvest, and raised on pasture without confinement to feedlots.22

Perhaps you can’t do anything about how large-scale industrial farms continue to plow up valuable grasslands, but you can make a difference for yourself, your family and community that might have residual effects. Buying grass fed or pastured animal products, including beef, bison, chicken, milk and eggs, is an excellent start to support both your health and regenerative farming methods that are protecting, not polluting, the planet.
