Why Most People Need Vitamin B12 Supplementation

Story at-a-glance

  • According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, nearly 40 percent of the U.S. population have marginal vitamin B12 status and 9 percent are deficient
  • Vitamin B12 insufficiency and deficiency increase your risk of serious health problems, many of which mimic more serious neurological diseases and can easily lead to misdiagnosis and improper treatment
  • B12 is required for many vital biological functions, including production of adrenal hormones, metabolizing fat, carbs and folate, formation of red blood cells, iron absorption, nervous system function, cognitive health and much more
  • B12 deficiency can even affect a woman’s Pap test, which screens for cervical cancer. Low B12 can affect the appearance of cervical cells, which can result in a false positive
  • Animal foods have become a questionable source of B12 thanks to modern farming practices, and many experts now believe most people really need to take a B12 supplement to ensure healthy B12 status

By Dr. Mercola

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), nearly 40 percent of the U.S. population have marginal vitamin B12 status and 9 percent are deficient.1 Vitamin B12 insufficiency and deficiency increase your risk of serious health problems, many of which mimic more serious neurological diseases and can easily lead to misdiagnosis and improper treatment.

Neurological problems, in particular, are a possibility even at the “low normal” range at or just below 258 picomoles per liter (pmol/L). A level of 148 pmol/L or less is considered a deficiency state. As noted by the USDA:2

Deficiency can cause a type of anemia marked by fewer but larger red blood cells. It can also cause walking and balance disturbances, a loss of vibration sensation, confusion and, in advanced cases, dementia. The body requires B12 to make the protective coating surrounding the nerves. So, inadequate B12 can expose nerves to damage.”

Indeed, vitamin B123 is vital for many functions throughout your body. B12 is required for:

Producing adrenal hormones Metabolizing folate
Digestion and metabolizing fat and carbs Formation of red blood cells
Iron absorption Proper blood circulation
Reproductive health Modulation of gut microbial ecology4
Nervous system function Nerve growth and function
Synthesizing of DNA Regulation and coordination of cell growth5

B12 Deficiency Mimics Many Serious Neurological Disorders and Diseases

As noted in the featured video, B12 deficiency can look exactly like multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease and autism. The film is made by registered nurse Sally Pacholok, a leading advocate for B12 deficiency awareness.6 According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), a deficiency can even affect a woman’s Pap test, which screens for cervical cancer.

Low B12 can affect the appearance of cervical cells, which can result in a false positive.7 Deficiency also raises your risk of heart disease. Vegans or strict vegetarians who abstain from animal products and do not supplement their diet with vitamin B12 will typically become anemic. Nervous and digestive system damage can also result.8

Claims that B12 is present in certain algae, tempeh and brewer’s yeast fail to take into account that the B12 analogues present in these foods are not bioavailable. The only reliable and absorbable sources of vitamin B12 are animal products. However, even animal foods have become a questionable source thanks to modern farming practices and, for this reason, many experts now believe most people really need to take a B12 supplement to ensure healthy B12 status.9

B12 Deficiency Widespread Even Among Meat Eaters

Interestingly, research shows no association between B12 blood levels and consumption of meat, poultry and fish — the primary sources of B12.10 According to the researchers, rampant B12 insufficiency is not due to lack of meat consumption. Rather, the vitamin simply isn’t being properly absorbed. B12 is tightly bound to proteins and high acidity is required to break this bond. In essence, a lot of people simply do not have sufficient stomach acid to separate the B12 from the protein.

The researchers speculate that the widespread use of antacids plays a significant role, especially among younger people. In a previous article,11 Dr. Jennifer Rooke, assistant professor in the department of community health and preventive medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine, also notes that factory farmed meat simply does not contain the B12 levels we’re used to.

The reason for this is because animals raised in concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) aren’t fed their natural diet. Cows are fed corn and grains, most of which are genetically engineered (GE) and loaded with pesticides, rather than grass. The same goes for chickens, the natural diet of which are insects, worms, seeds and berries, not GE corn.

“It is true that animal products contain B12, and strict vegetarians/vegans are at risk for B12 deficiency, but absorbing B12 from animal products is a very complex process and people who eat meat may be at equal or greater risk for B12 deficiency,” Rooke writes. The reason CAFO animals don’t produce as much B12 is because B12 is made by bacteria that live in both soil and the guts of animals. Cows and chickens raised on pasture obtain the vitamin from the dirt on their food.

Pesticides also kill off soil bacteria, which is why conventionally grown grains are not a good source of B12, and CAFO animals are routinely given antibiotics, which also kill of these beneficial microbes. “In order to maintain meat a source of B12 the meat industry now adds it to animal feed; 90 percent of B12 supplements produced in the world are fed to livestock.

Even if you only eat grass fed organic meat you may not be able to absorb the B12 attached to animal protein. It may be more efficient to just skip the animals and get B12 directly from supplements,” Rooke writes.

Pregnant Women Beware: B12 Deficiency Can Cause Severe Neurological Damage in Your Child

While vegans are urged to augment their B12 intake by stocking up on nutritional yeast, coconut oil and fortified coconut milk, a strict vegan or even vegetarian diet is not recommended. In fact, there are cases in which a deficiency causes serious brain abnormalities. Women of childbearing age also need to be aware that B12 deficiency will place their offspring at risk.

If you’re deficient and breastfeed, your child will also be deficient, and may develop neurological symptoms — symptoms that are frequently misdiagnosed as autism and/or other neurological diseases. It’s really critical to catch a B12 deficiency early, as impaired brain and nerve development can be very difficult to correct once the damage is done. In adults, B12 deficiency can develop in about six years.12 That’s how long it takes to deplete your body’s B12 stores.

Babies, however, do not have B12 stores, especially if the mother was deficient during pregnancy, so side effects can develop far more rapidly. Babies whose moms had a B12 deficiency during pregnancy also have a higher risk of developing Type 2 diabetes and other serious metabolic problems.13

A deficiency can be corrected by weekly shots of vitamin B12 or daily high-dose B12 supplements. Mild cases may also be corrected by increased intake of vitamin B12-rich foods. A detailed list of the B12 amounts of different foods can be found on the NIH website.14Some of the richest sources include clams, beef liver, wild rainbow trout and wild sockeye salmon.

B12 Deficiency Plays a Role in Depression and Other Psychiatric Conditions

Aside from symptoms mimicking autism and Alzheimer’s, B12 deficiency also contributes to depression and other psychiatric conditions. (Other B vitamins, including niacin (B3), B6, biotin (B8) and folate (B9) deficiencies can also produce psychiatric effects.) For example, research has shown vitamin B12 deficiency can trigger confusion, agitation, depression, mania, psychosis and paranoid delusions.15,16

One study17,18 found vitamins B6, B8 (inositol) and B12 in combination were very effective for improving schizophrenic symptoms when taken in high doses — more so than standard drug treatments alone. Low doses were ineffective. One of the reasons for this may be related to the fact that schizophrenics tend to have abnormalities in their B12 and glutamate pathways.19

Low B12 Implicated in Migraines

B12, along with B6 and folic acid, has also been shown to reduce the frequency, severity and disability of migraines. In one study,20daily vitamin supplements produced a twofold reduction in migraines over a six-month period. Certain gene mutations and dysfunctions can lead to higher levels of homocysteine production, which can make you more susceptible to migraine attacks.

Vitamins B6 and B12 help to optimize your homocysteine levels. The scientists also found that depending on your genotype, you may need a higher or lower dose to benefit. People with TT genotypes, which have a lower enzymatic rate, metabolize less homocysteine than those with C allele carriers. As a result, the former experience less of a benefit from the supplementation and require higher doses.

Signs of Vitamin B12 Deficiency

If you’re frequently beset by fatigue and general lack of energy, you may be experiencing the onset of B12 deficiency. Other seemingly unrelated symptoms such as poor memory, shortness of breath, loss of taste and smell, depression and tingling in your extremities, can be indicative of low B12.

Anxiousness and depression may occur because a B12 shortage depresses the brain chemical serotonin, a neurotransmitter linked to your brain’s pleasure centers, and dopamine, the mood regulator registering memory and mood. Unless there’s an intervention, low B12 levels may even lead to paranoia, delusions and hallucinations. Other signs and symptoms include:21

A numb, tingly, “pins and needles” sensation in your hands, legs or feet, which may indicate possible nerve damage.
A red, swollen, “beefy” tongue with fewer papillae “bumps” containing taste buds.
Mouth sores/ulcers.
Blurry or double vision, or shadows in your field of vision, caused by optic nerve damage from a B12 deficiency.
Yellow skin (jaundice), an indication that your red blood cells are degrading, which releases a yellow pigment in the process.
Unstable, wobbly and dizzy feelings, which are signs there may not be enough oxygen in your blood, related to low B12.
Memory loss, which may be a red flag when it has no other potential cause.

Most People Are at Risk for B12 Deficiency

There are a number of key reasons for a B12 deficiency, including the following. Unfortunately, doctors frequently overlook these common contributing causes, and B12 deficiency is frequently misdiagnosed as something far more serious.

Needless to say, when a deficiency is misdiagnosed as depression, Alzheimer’s, autism or other serious disease, the root cause remains unaddressed, and no amount of treatment will be significantly effective. So, if any of these situations apply to you, be particularly mindful of your B12 status, especially if you have symptoms associated with deficiency.

Vegetarians and vegans are susceptible since B12 is derived from animal products.
People who regularly drink alcohol, as B12 is stored in your liver.
Anyone with an autoimmune disease like Crohn’s or celiac, which may prevent your body from being able to absorb B12.
People who drink more than four cups of coffee daily are more prone to vitamin B deficiencies than non-coffee consumers.22
Those who’ve had gastric bypass surgery and therefore have altered digestive systems, as this may impair B12 absorption.
People exposed to nitrous oxide (laughing gas), which can wipe out whatever B12 reserves you may have in your body.
Adults over 50, because as you grow older, your ability to produce intrinsic factor decreases.
People with helicobacter pylori infection. Intrinsic factor is a protein made by stomach cells that’s necessary for B12 absorption. H. pylori bacteria can destroy intrinsic factor, thereby preventing B12 absorption.
People who take antacids, which have a tendency to interfere with B12 absorption, especially over time.
Patients who take metformin for low blood sugar, as the drug interferes with B12 absorption, doubling your risk of deficiency.23
Anyone taking a proton-pump inhibitor (PPIs) like Prevacid or Nexium or H2 blocker such as Pepcid or Zantac. Research24 shows taking PPIs for more than two years increases your risk of B12 deficiency by 65 percent.
Women taking birth control pills for an extended period of time, as the estrogen impairs absorption.25
People who have taken antibiotics, as these drugs have been shown to induce vitamin B12 deficiency.26

How Much Vitamin B12 Do You Need and Which Type Is Best?

The recommended dietary allowance for vitamin B12 is:27

  • 0.4 to 1.8 micrograms (mcg) for newborns and children up to 13, depending on their exact age
  • 2.4 mcg for people age 14 and older
  • 2.6 mcg for pregnant women
  • 2.8 mcg for breastfeeding women

Fortunately, you don’t need to worry about overdosing on B12 because it’s water soluble, so your body will simply flush out any excess. The type of B12 you use, however, is a factor worthy of consideration. While cyanocobalamin is the form of B12 found in most supplements, this form is far from ideal and does not occur naturally in foods. As explained by Dr. Peter J. D’Adamo:28

“As the name implies, cyanocobalamin contains a cyanide molecule. Most people are familiar with cyanide as a poisonous substance. Although the amount of cyanide in a normal B12 supplement is small and from a toxicology point, viewed as insignificant, your body will still need to remove and eliminate this compound. This removal is accomplished through your detoxification systems with substances like glutathione being very important for the elimination of the cyanide.”

A far better form of B12 — especially for the support of nervous system health and healthy vision — is methylcobalamin, which is the naturally occurring form found in food. It’s more absorbable and your body retains it in greater amounts than cyanocobalamin.29Considering the many health risks associated with B12 deficiency, and the fact that CAFO animal products — which is what most people eat — tend to be low in B12, it may be wise for most people to take a high-quality methylcobalamin supplement.

Healthy Pool! Water balance out of the ordinary!

I began to notice that I wasn’t happy in my pool. It wasn’t “inviting”.  I didn’t know why or how to fix it.  I just knew I didn’t like it.  I kept paying attention and began to learn things that could really transform my experience.  I decided that it was the chlorine.  It didn’t smell or feel nice and although it was very subtle, I found it repelling.  I found myself not wanting to keep the chlorine at the sanitizing level that others have suggested.  Oh my.  I spent a summer of green pools.  My pool and I were miserable.

First, I deemed the “status” of my pool and my house.  At 13,000 gallons, I declared my pool a large spa rather than of a small pool.  That way, I have something grand instead of something small.  Similarly, I declared my house to be a “cottage”.  We enjoy it immensely!    It is the perfect place to retire and that’s what we are looking forward to!

I wanted my large spa/small pool to be very healthy.  I wanted it to lure me to get in it and to have it be magical when I got there.  I wanted it to uplift my body while I enjoyed the water and I wanted to sleep like a baby.  I guess that’s the opposite of being miserable.  At this moment, I am well on my way to having that experience.  There are a few things I would need to tweak.

Alternative water chemistry:

There is lots of alternative water chemistry in the hot tub world.  In a hot tub, everything gets much more intense.  The heat and the steam reek of whatever is in there and the owners and water maintenance people are acutely aware of it.

My friend Ray is a chemist and health officinado.  He had very painful lesions and he was seeking help for them.  He researched and found the best alternative doctors after the regular doctors offered no help.  One of his alternative doctors understood what he had and within a few weeks, the lesions healed.  It was a simple fix!  The answer was, massive iodine deficiency.

Iodine is a mineral found in some foods. The body needs iodine to make thyroid hormones. These hormones control the body’s metabolism and many other important functions. The body also needs thyroid hormones for proper bone and brain development during pregnancy and infancy.

Ray taught me about the relationship of iodine to the rest of the chemical group on the periodic table called halogens and how the body uses iodine as a sanitizer but can easily get overshadowed by the heavier halogens.  The literature available indicates that there are a billion people with iodine deficiency.  Ray’s painful lesions began to heal instantly by taking an iodine supplement.  He referred me to this book:

The Iodine Crisis: What You Don’t Know About Iodine Can Wreck Your Life

Basically, in the periodic table, group 7 includes chlorine, bromine, fluorine, then iodine, which all have seven electrons in their outer shell. Here is the problem, in a displacement reaction a less reactive element is removed and replaced by a more reactive element.

The element we need is iodine.  The heavier halogens, chlorine, fluorine, and bromine remove iodine in a chemical reaction.  Here is the rub: using tap water containing chlorine and fluoride and some fluoride toothpaste is enough to replace the iodine in the halogen receptors.  Everyone is trained and reinforced to create a body crisis.

The solutions to this crisis include filtering your water, finding a fluoride free toothpaste and eliminating sources of chlorine, bromine, and fluorine.  A chlorine-free environment brought me right back to my swimming pool.  I now understood why my body didn’t enjoy being immersed in a chlorine bath!  It was time to take my own power back and make my pool clean and wonderful without chlorine.

I decided to research using iodine in my pool.  I need iodine, it might make sense, so I went about seeing if it was feasible. In my research, I learned that it was indeed available.  Bernie Litman from www.elearnaid.com had a website about it and was kind enough to spend time with me to talk about it.  He said that potassium iodide doesn’t evaporate because it doesn’t turn into a gas until it gets over 300 degrees.  It will simply stay in the water.

I decided to go for it.  I bought some potassium iodide and a Hanna handheld iodine checker.  This measured how much iodine was in the pool.   Nothing!  The instrument read that I had no iodine in the pool!  I put more in.  Nothing.  I had put plenty in the pool and I was expecting a reading of 2.0 ppm or higher which would indicate a significant amount of sanitizer.

After pondering, I realized that the potassium iodide was present but it wasn’t splitting into potassium and iodine, thus I didn’t have a reading.  I went back to Barry and he suggested that I needed a clean oxidizer like ozone or hydrogen peroxide to split the potassium iodide into its singular units.  I needed more research.

I have ozone jets in my pool system.  I have a unit called Solar Eclipse has 5 ozone jets and UV lights.  This “should have” worked but didn’t.  I was stumped.  The answer did come but not at this time.  I didn’t have enough water flow to run the Solar Eclipse but at the time I was working on this issue, I was simply stumped.   See Healthy Pool: Water Flow

Barry suggested that I needed an oxidizer.  He said that chlorine was an oxidizer and that sometimes people use Hydrogen Peroxide as an oxidizer.  I began to read.  I did learn that H2O2 or Hydrogen Peroxide had been studied as a pool oxidizer and deemed worthy.  Perhaps even better than chlorine.  Since no one knew how bad the chlorine was for thyroid hormones and that it was more expensive than chlorine, it didn’t catch on.  But it did with me!  I bought some, put it in the pool and there it was!  My iodine showed up on my measurement instrument!  Yeah!!

It was a bummer that it was winter and the heater wasn’t hooked up.  I watched and worked with the H2O2 until the spring and when I went in, I was amazed at how wonderful it made my body feel.  I was hooked!  That was the experience I wanted.

The iodine was present, the H2O2 was terrific and the experience was the best. Thank you, Barry Litman!  You changed my life by sharing your life experience.  It was time to relax and enjoy what I had worked for.  A really healthy swim.

Maybe the most amazing part of using hydrogen peroxide for pool and spa treatment is the simplicity of it. It can not chemically build up in your pool. You do not have to continually be balancing chemicals against more chemicals to make it work. It does not require complex filters or machinery. It does not require exact levels of concentration to work.

It bio-degrades completely to only healthy substances of water and oxygen – good for you and your pool/spa. It contains no toxins. You do not have to fear how it interacts with other chemicals. Nothing in hydrogen peroxide causes cancer, sterility, birth defects, brain damage, tumors, nervous system damage. It does not smell bad. Hydrogen peroxide for pool and spa usage does not produce toxic vapors. There is no complex transition to change to H2O2 for pool and spa treatment.

Healthy Pool!! Water flow

Managing your pool water flow is really important and has lots of elements to it.

How to correct the low water pressure in your pool.

in addition to this video, I tried for a year to get my pressure fixed. I had lots of things going on and I fixed the clogs in the line.  For this, the tool that finally did the job was a small rubber piece that blows up and blocks the pipe from pushing water backward and pressures the water forwards, clearing the blockage.  It is an elegant solution that requires no plumber and the part is $10 and reusable.

Although this fixed the blockage, it didn’t fix the low pressure so I had to keep going.  I am writing because the traditional solutions offered on the web didn’t fix my issue.  Nothing did!  That is until I got to the issue and then it was fixed.

A plumber friend, Bill Drinkard, used to take care of pools for the military bases.  He suggested that I change the diameter of the pipes by making it all 2 inch from the pump to the return.  I ended up buying a 2″ filter cartridge to replace the 1 1/2 inch one I had.   I bought a new variable pump to get maximization of water flow.  The issue never fixed.  I was very perplexed.  I used the pool like that for the fall and it ran through its winter cycle.

The next year, I did a deep spring cleaning which included cleaning the filter.  After a TSP bath, the filter was still so heavy that my husband wanted it to be changed.  I had one ready and installed the new filter.  All of a sudden, my issue was fixed!!! The old filter which came with the new filter box had only a few small holes in it.   It didn’t let enough water through it!!  The new Pleatco filter that I put in said on the box that it has special engineering to let the water through in a good way.  It worked!!!

Instead, of the water backing up, causing pressure and working against itself, the new filter let more water through and suddenly, all my issues were gone.  The water could move the pool system.  I couldn’t believe it.  I worked so hard to fix that!!  All I had to do was to reset the pool pump for lower settings with great results and movement.  Suddenly the skimmer basket cleaned the pool surface, and everything worked the way it should.

I had read about using an open weave filter, but I worried that the construction and design of the filter would be “flimsy”.  The manufacture would have engineered it properly in the new filter cartridge.  Apparently not!!   I am so happy!!!!

I did have to change to a floating skimmer.  The pool skimmer is right under the waterfall.  The waterfall pushes the water away, making the place to collect dust and debris to be on the other side of the pool.  By using the vacuum line, I put a Skim-Around filter basket in.  This did the trick although some of the particles collect around it and on the hose with breaks the water surface in one place.  I just use my skimmer net to get them out of the pool to make the sanitizer’s job easier!

Speaking of sanitizer,  the summer before, I had put in a Solar Eclipse unit which has UV Lights and Ozone generators.  But it really didn’t work because the pool wasn’t pushing water. We had put the Solar Eclipse up as a wall mount to keep it away from the rainwater flooding that area sometimes.  It wasn’t working because the water wasn’t getting through it because of the weak water flow.  All of a sudden, it began to work.  I could tell because the algae and pool clarity was MUCH BETTER after the cleaning cycle.  The water looked great.

Another great improvement was to buy a dolphin pool vacuum.   This helped me because it didn’t rely on water pressure from the pool and could remove debris and have its filters cleaned each time I used it.  Although it was expensive, I found a guy who wanted to sell one and he hadn’t really used it.  HALF PRICE!!!  I got lucky.

The pool now pushes water through my sanitizer, doesn’t make as much noise, the day feature really moves the water and it is now effective to clean it.  This whole time I had a brand new unit which didn’t work.  I couldn’t work that out.  It was supposed to work!

The sanitizer uses ozone and UV lights and it is recommended to run it 24 hours.  Using my new variable pump, I have it run quietly at night, with a bit of waterfall but not too loud for conversation.  Then in the morning, partly to get me going, I have it set for a strong current to clean the water.   Before, with low water pressure, it didn’t work.  It didn’t have enough pressure to get enough water through the sanitizer, now with the new filter installed, it works!  The pool stays cleaner and I don’t need as much oxidizer.  I really wanted that and wondered what I did wrong for a very long time!

A few more things that I have done to make my pool work for me.  There are some things that you just can’t get around:  sweeping the sides of the pool is one of them.  It doesn’t seem to be that effective either when I sweep.  The algae seems to still be there.  My polyquat 60 works much better with circulation.  But, I still get little black particles in the cracks of the gunite.  I fear that it is the roots of black algae because the pool was so sluggish.

I like efficient solutions.  I need to get the pool walls really scrubbed clean, much like a show grout.  This time, I got innovative!   I made it more efficient by putting my pressure washer nozzle on a long pool brush/net handle and attached it with lots of velcro strips.  Then I gently cleaned the sides of the pool, the bottom around the lights, and inside the vents which had algae lying inside.  Wow!  My pool sparkles.

Using the pressure washer needs some caution.   You don’t want to get in too close or too intense or you will remove the stones from the liner.  There is another issue, which is, once I start shooting the water into the pool, the bubbles make it hard to see so I can’t do it visually, I have to go through it systematically.  The pressure washer is loud and stinky and I am careful to use it only during midday working hours.

The good news is it gets it much cleaner than vacuuming or brushing.   If I use my head and keep it up, I only have to clean it once per month or after the rain and, of course, I don’t want to strip the gunite.  I need a new gunite liner and I thought I would get a handle on the water chemistry, the cleaning cycles and bring the pool up to date BEFORE putting in the new gunite lining.  I would get my education first!

I live in central Florida and it rains a lot in the summer.  The water from the swamp steams off the creeks and the swamp algae and all rises up into the air and dumps down in a thunderstorm.  The water in the pool gets this gel and I know that this is the nest of the microbes!  I clean this out of my body with enzymes.  I know this is what attaches itself to the pool walls.  That’s why I am determined to keep the pool sparkling clean!

I am still working on a way to cover the pool so the oxidizer doesn’t have to work so hard to remove the organic material.  But my pool is a kidney shape, with landscaping close to the sides and there is a waterfall which complicates the anchors.  I am thinking of putting a tarp up high and angling the rainwater away from the porch and house.  If this is not too hard, it will make it very easy to keep the pool clean!

Carbon is a great antioxidant.

https://c-60.com/

There are over millions and millions of single molecules of Carbon 60 in just one (2/3 ml) serving of Carbon-60TM Organic Sunflower Oil … that’s a lot of antioxidants!

Free Radicals and Antioxidants.  Most health professionals and medical researchers agree that many of our body’s ailments are directly related to free radicals. An antioxidant has the ability to mend these damaged molecules by donating an electron to the free radical.

Antioxidants include:

  • Red wine
  • Berries (blueberries, blackberries, elderberries, cranberries)
  • Pecans
  • Vitamin C
  • Kidney beans
  • Dark chocolate
  • Artichokes
  • Cilantro
  • Garlic
  • Spices (cloves, cinnamon, oregano, cumin, ginger, basil)
  • Supplements (Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Lutein, Quercetin, Glutathione)

Why are single molecules of C60 so important?  Carbon 60 molecules are so small that about 100,000 C60 molecules would fit on the width of a single human hair! Shaped like a soccer ball (also called a buckeyball), a single molecule of Carbon 60 has about 20 to 40 electrons available to mend a free radical. C60 is most effective as single C60 molecules. When you have Carbon 60 molecules that are clustered together, their effectiveness is greatly reduced. Our proprietary process produces single C60 molecules that are not clustered.

How to Stretch your Bravo Purchase and Save Money: The Second Generation Strategy

How to Stretch your Bravo Purchase and Save Money: The Second Generation Strategy

The starter powder when cultured is called a “First Generation” or 1ST GEN of Bravo.

It is the best and most effective way of taking Bravo.  If you have a medical condition

and can afford to buy Bravo, that is recommended.  Because it is the most effective.

The scientists have made Bravo in a laboratory with specific ratios.  Because of that, we can not really keep making it over and over like most yogurts.  The regenerative yogurt cultures have been together over time and what doesn’t work is long gone.

Bravo is not a docile regenerative yogurt.  It is a biological medicine and has been developed in over 300 experiments to create GcMAF. Bravo has lactobacillus types, bifidus types, yeasts such as s. Balardii and colostrum.  The yeasts are competitive and over time will dominate the food source.

We must be mindful of protecting the “formula”.  Taking other yogurt or probiotics can change or dilute the formula.  These can be suspended while using Bravo.  It is already a very high potency and complete probiotic.

We can, however, make a 2ND GEN which (in my opinion) is only loosing 20% of it’s effectiveness. (IMHO, The 3RD GEN was very yeasty and had a threatening taste

but was slightly usable, (in my opinion) I would say it lost 40-45% and left me not

feeling good in my body, meaning it wasn’t as effective.   The 4TH GEN when I made it, was a waste of milk!  It was  horrible and not remotely usable at all.

However, the second generation will be useful.  The yogurt mixture will carry the living probiotics to the next batch but the colostrum is food and ingredients to make the new cultured substance to support the immune system.  Therefore we need to add colostrum to the second generation batch.

Here is my strategy suggestion, use it if it works for you.

When we use the starter powder, it comes with colostrum in it.  When making the 2ND GEN you must add about 2 TBS of colostrum which adds nutrition to the milk for the culture.   (As you may know colostrum is the “first milk” in breast milk and it is known to build the immune

system like the t-cells of the immune system.). It is available by the ounce in our store to make it easy for you to try cheaply or by the huge tub at Amazon for $60 plus dollars for 21 oz.) It is shelf stable.

Things you will need:

An extra jar violet glass jar (to keep the product fresher longer.)

1-2 TBS Colostrum

2 cups of milk (for the 1/2 liter jar)

1/4 – 1/3 cup of 1ST GEN Bravo

Directions:

  1.  Take a jar of prepared 1ST GEN and put 1/4 cup of yogurt mixture into a second jar.
  2. Add 1-2 TBS colostrum (doesn’t change the formula)
  3. Fill up the 1/2 liter jar to the top with approx 2 cups of milk.
  4. Mix by shaking (if you do that well). Or grind powder it in a small cup with a spoon and milk then shake in)
  5. Plug in the machine or turn on your oven lightbulb and culture it.  Both of these ways are viable.
  • 98 degrees environment for 12 hour (see Youtube.com – Preparing Bravo Part 2)
  • 70-86 degrees for 24-48 hours

You now have an almost full jar of 1ST GEN

You have a full jar of 2ND GEN

Consume only the 2ND GEN.

Leave the 1ST GEN until you need more culture to make another jar of 2ND GEN

Keep it closed and in the back for best results.

Continue making 2ND GEN jars and consume them until the 1ST GEN has gone bad.

(I have seen it last months in a prayerful home 🙂 but start checking after a month.  If you are not using Miron glass, start checking after 2.5 weeks.

ALTERNATIVE 2ND GEN PLAN

If you are ill and need more direct support but need to save money, you can compromise.

Take some 1ST GEN in the morning and the 2ND Gen in the evening.

The 2ND GEN feeds and refreshes the micro biome and fills in as needed.

Be creative!  Find what works for you.

Other things that will help  you along as per the Doctors from Europe:

The doctors in their protocol also suggest

  1. Rubio Cordifolia, and lithium orotate (buy it at BravoCoop.  It’s called Bravo Proyocol)
  2. as well as multivitamins and
  3. vitamin D in smaller doses such as 1000IU
  4. Also the Ketogenic or Paleo. (Look it up! It’s very worth your attention.)

The ketogenic diet is really important in that the Bravo needs greens to make the system work!!  It’s a delicate system.  You need to make the digestive system lighter and using less energy.

We desperately need to stop feeding the micro parasites that make film and cover you!  When I started to take Bravo, I felt the film back off and my vitality was able to shine through.  Don’t let that “system” get close.  It is better to be proactive.

Sugar feeds cancer and therefore starts it’s parasitic action.  It is a hard fight back to your divine inner communication once those pirates hijack your communication system and tell you it’s fine to keep doing what “they say” you want.

People generally just loose their sensibility and shrug off the warnings of others.  It’s up to you to eat well and be a ninja.   It isn’t a fight as much as discernment, vigilance and awareness.  When we want to hide from stress in comfort is the time it is most dangerous.  The hijacking is quite subtle and mostly it’s a smooth transition into their command.  (meaning parasitic growth)

The way the parasites hijack our inner communication is called “cravings”.  We eat sugar a few times, the parasitic condition “gets awakened”, the colony starts to build a film to protect itself.  The colony secretes hormonal messages to your receptor sites the same as your endocrines.  Suddenly you are in a hormonal storm.  You eat what you know you don’t want.  Yes, the parasites have you like a puppet on a sting.  And what are you telling yourself while that happens?

YOU are the most important commodity in this action.  You must stay true to your own body’s function.  Here is the test.  Say no to what you shouldn’t eat, and win!  If you can do that consistently, you will be able to heal  yourself and do much more with your self.  You will become actualized.

Do you know when you are dehydrated?  It’s very similar!  We know we need to drink water and we don’t.  Supporting yourself becomes a double benefitted action.

  1.  You get more dedicated to self care and wake up
  2. Your body gets stronger from the water and food
  3. You become more self reliant and register good endorphins and positive messages
  4. You feel what your body feels shining out from inside you and it’s glorious!

Get support!  Dr. Ruggiero says this is not a DIY project.  You might need to know how to take some steps.  How to make it as well as how to support your own process.  Get more support on upcoming teleconference calls.

Look for the following effective signs from taking Bravo Yogurt

When taking Bravo Yogurt available at bdavocoop.com

1.  Instantly, your tissues will begin to detoxify like an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner.  If you are sensitive, you will feel a shimmer and a flutter.  More

Designed specifically to create GcMAF to turn on the gut, digestion, cellular energy and reclaim your ability to gracefully and easily move the heavy emotions. It is Mimi’s opinion that GcMAF both removing and preventing diseases by helping our gut tissue (us) to be champion energy movers!

We also know that GcMAF is the natural substance that turns on the immune system.  The yogurt and your microbiome create that substance and do a “work around” to ignite the immune system because your GcMAF “door” gets intentionally glued shut by virus biofilm.  Mimi has noticed a clunk in the gut at week 2 where the immune system turns on.  After that, many life decisions took on an easier and much more clear demeanor which she associates to having her immune system on!

However, the most important part takes place at “Month 3” which is the “freedom zone”.  Mimi says, “I began to feel the demise of the “bad” microbes in my body.  I also began to feel discomfort and fortunately, I knew that my immune system was killing the bad microbes.   This is important because the bad microbes “rail” against us to not kill them.  You may get a feeling that something big is going on and you might not get the story straight that this is good.  We recommend that you hold tight through the six month mark if you want to feel the full effect of how good you can feel!

How long does a jar last?

If this is your first jar, we have a graduated recommendation for taking it.

  • Week 1 – 1/4 tsp x 2 times per day (at rest, without food)
  • Week 2 – 1 tsp x 2 times per day (no other restrictions)
  • Week 3 – 1 TBS x 2 times per day
  • Week 4 – 2 TBS x 2 times per day

This jar is a 1/2 liter European measurement, we buy milk by the gallon which is slightly less than a half liter.  A half liter contains approximately 67 tablespoons.  Hopefully this will help you to estimate how long a jar lasts at the rate you take it.

When adjusting your dosage, pay attention to how you feel.  Not just your body but your mood and brightness.  If you feel great, that means your body has enough energy to detoxify at the current rate.  If you take too much for your body energy, you will have a feeling in your life of “I have too much to do.”  This is the detox taking up lots of your energy.  Find the level where you feel great and stay there.

Bravo Coop’s New Shopping Cart

Bravo Coop’s New Shopping Cart

BravoCoop has enlisted a lot of new functionality by using a different company for our shopping cart.   As of the February Stock Order,  when you go to www.bravocoop.com and you choose the “Shop” tab, the URL changes to “www.mimiskitchenclub.com”.

We did this to gain functionality such as:

  • Payment options that were not Paypal driven
  • Shipping options that give you a choice of carriers (coming)
  • User accounts which remember your name and address
  • Order history records
  • Reoccurring subscription options (coming)
  • Live Chat with a knowledge base for easy self-help
  • A point based loyalty system for product coupons (coming)
  • Private Q&A for Mimi’s Kitchen Club members (coming)
  • Practitioner’s Corner with Q&A & affiliate links (coming)

We also discovered that everyday there are 6-12 people checking in from other countries. We added geo-tracking which determines where our visitors are coming from and offers their language and currency translations.

Mimi’s Kitchen Club

Offering my own homemade products presents a problem with the FDA because they protect the “public”.   Joining Mimi’s Kitchen Club creates a membership in a private membership association which changes your status from “public” to “private”.   It also offers a smidge of protection because you understand that we are making these products for you in our kitchen and not some commercial FDA approved operation.   If you want to stick to factory products, just use the “Shop” tab for unopened product from Switzerland.  You don’t need to Join anything for that.

When you join this club and acknowledge that you give me permission to open packages from the Bravo Europe manufacture and make something that you want.   We do not act as professional businesses with licenses as much as we act as people talking in a kitchen.  As members of a private club, we have the right to speak about things of our interest such as raw milk or alternative healing and earthy subjects like taking minerals.  Within such an organization we are protected by our constitutional rights of freedom of speech.  We are allowed to help each other if it is adequately understood how we are doing that.  Thus the form.

Is all this necessary? Yes, it is. In order to offer custom products, or talk about our experiences with them,  we need to protect our privacy a little and make a brand and protect it.  That’s why the Bravo Products are offered on an unlocked page to the public and the custom products are locked.

How to Register for Mimi’s Kitchen Club

  1. Go to BravoCoop.com
  2. Choose the “Shop” tab
  3. Confirm that you are now on the URL www.mimiskitchenclub.com
  4. Choose the “Join Mimi’s Kitchen Club” tab.
  5. Fill out the one time only form.  (explained below)
  6. Login.
  7. Observe the new options on the navigation bar.  (explained below)
    1. Prepared Yogurt
    2. Custom
    3. Accessories
  8. IMPORTANT:  Continue to login EACH time you come to the site

Do you have questions?  Feel free to contact us any time.   orderdesk@bravocoop.com, 321-747-5517, live chat during biz hours on each page.

Why Make Our Own Products from Bravo & Rerum?

If you know about healing, you will also know that it is a uniquely individual process.  It is based on how much life force you have available, how much detoxification process is open to you, and what rate and dedication you have to maintain these things.   The next part has to do with simple and elegant solutions for each person to support their body the way that it wants to be supported which is based on what the body is working on.  The body has it’s priorities and they are often beyond what we can understand. In the end, it is a customized process with people’s hearts connected for strength and support.

Our goal is to be able to offer you the customized products made from Bravo and Rerum. We also must protect our source and Bravo-Europe’s legal liability which covers their brand and unopened products.   We don’t ever want to be without these products!

Bravo Coop and Mimi’s Kitchen Club are business names operating under, Healthy Energetics LLC.  We wish to transparently protect Bravo-Europe’s manufacturing and at the same time offer our members what their bodies want and need.  We have used the Bravo Products in the making of these customizations.  We are required to not include the Bravo name in our custom offerings.  Thus the name conversion.

  • Bravo GcMAF Yogurt is now Mimi’s Kitchen Club Prepared GcMAF Yogurt
  • Bravo Non-Dairy is Mimi’s Kitchen Club Prepared Non-Dairy Drink
  • Bravo suppositories are called Mimi’s Kitchen Club GcMAF Suppositories
  • Bravo Concentrate capsules are called Mimi’s Kitchen Club GcMAF Enteric Capsules
  • Rerum capsules are called Mimi’s Kitchen Club Rapid Detox Capsules
  • Rerum suppositories are called Mimi’s Kitchen Club Rapid Detox Capsules

How can you help?

Allowing others to understand our experiences is an important way to share what they can expect and what and how the products are working.   To do a good job with this, we also need to broaden our own awareness of how it is working for us.

Our new site will be filled with opportunities for social proof.   We aim to please and show others that BravoCoop is the place to be!  We work together to be helpful and in that process we learn more than we did before.  We are “for the people” providing direction for our personal journeys .

  • Write a product reviews
  • Use the Discussion Forum (coming)
  • Use the journey board to document your progress on a time line
  • Post something on Social Media
  • Visit our FaceBook @ BravoCoop
  • Use our Downloadable Section (coming)
    • Research and video archive bites by topic (coming)
    • Ebooks
    • Self-Serve Live Chat Library by topic (our own google)
  • Practitioner’s forum (coming)

Did you know that by helping others you can open and build your own energy to heal?  Here are some immediate steps you can do to help yourself, us, and others:

  • Referrals are always appreciated and what has kept us in business
  • Reviews (on each product you have used)
    • The “big stars” are on the “Shop” tab.
